Welcome to the Uncompahgre Treasure Club

Welcome to UTC, the Uncompahgre Treasure Club. We are a group of metal detector a d treasure hunting enthusiasts who practice our hobby in the peaceful Uncompahgre Valley in southwestern Colorado at the foot of the scenic San Juan Mountains.

Our club roster consists of 75 members. UTC meets monthly and offers activities to stimulate our spirit of adventure:  news regarding metal detecting and treasure hunting, speakers on topics about our hobby, raffles for prizes, and educational outreach. Our scheduled nighttime metal detecting hunts for coins are a particular favorite, too.

UTC is fortunate to hold title to an unpatented placer gold claim on the San Miguel River, a short distance downstream from Placerville, CO. Club members can metal detect, pan and hand sluce for gold on the claim.
